Just wanted to let everybody know the I'm bringing the original Phoenix 7 that belongs to Curt Oberg. He brought it our and is going to let me fly it. I haven't been this excited in quite awhile! I flew in my first contest with it.

Does a contestant have to be a member of AMA BPA SPA etc in this and similar classic pattern events?

I didn't finish reading your question.
Any BPA, CPA and AMA events require current AMA membership.
Only SPA requires SPA membership for the Sportsman and above classes. I believe Novice does not require SPA member ship.
Maybe an SPA member can chime in here and correct me if I am wrong.

I am sure Crashlander will answer this. AMA, yes. You can join on-line, quick and easy. Maybe they can give you your old number back, if it is available. The classic pattern and senior pattern, you should be able to join at the site, or on line also.

AMA sanction's, etc., insurance.

If you would like to join CPA there website is www.classicpatternassociation.com paypal or snail mail check accepted......... There ia also a free mail list you can join to get info on CPA stuff...

You DO NOT have to be a member of CPA to fly a CPA/BPA event.... As a member you get a voice on issues and also help support the site etc.

In SPA you must be a member to fly in Sportsman or above.........

Hey guys;
Just one more weekend until the Tangerine Classic Pattern event. A three day event flying AMA turn-around 2011 schedules and the Classic Pattern event fly the pre-1996 non turn-around pattern schedules as noted on the www.ballisticpattern.com website. The Classic Pattern will be flying Novice, Sportsman, Advanced and Masters as listed on that site.
Don't forget, that is ovember 19, 20 , 21, 2010.

Pre-register and save $5.00 per event.

Flying begins on Friday with all events flying the three days. We will try for as many rounds as possible, weather permitting.
