Default Beware of deer

A 6 point buck decided to join me on my way to walmart. He ran through one lane and into mine. I had a few cuts to my face from glass and some glass in my eye caused some minor damage to my right eye. I was really lucky. He could have thrashed and kicked and really gotten me hurt but he was already dead. My little brother was gonna ride with me and I'm really glad he didnt. He really gotten hurt. Now I'm out of a ride for the rest of the time that I'm on leave.

Our local Moose are what worry me, they are black and their eyes don't shine at night, combined with being fearless/stupid lot's are killed on the Highway here locally each year. Very few vehicles drive away under their own power.....[:@]

Hey Fly Boy 2,

My turn came a couple of weeks ago. I was driving my son and couple of his friends to school. She came out of the dark from my 9:00 on a full run. Almost zero time to react. Luckily she didn't get over the hood.

The wife of a good friend ran into one in a suburban area SE of Houston. Unhurt, she called her husband and his first words were, "Was it a buck or a doe?" Amasingly, they are still married 35 years later.

Scary stuff.

I once got T-boned by a deer in my Mitsubishi Eclipse. It ran right into my driver's door. The glass shattered all over me. It did about $3K worth of damage. Nobody was hurt. The deer got up and took off. That was back in 2001. It was at 1:00 PM on a sunny day.

A friend of my son hit one last fall with his Dads F-250 @ about 45mph, Broad daylight, just jumped out like they always do.... You'd think the truck wouldn't be hurt that bad right? $3500 worth of damages. I had an accident and totaled out a late 90's Pontiac Boniville with my 2500hd last summer and the damage to My truck was about the same $$ amount,,, amazing
