I have been flying model airplanes since since 1988 Big ones fast ones slow ones jets you name it I've flown it. In my encounters with all the fine people and after numerous club meetings I have come to the conclusion that 98 percent of the people that try to participate in this fine sport are fricken morons.

I believe that that is a meaningless statistic. I think the real issue is 98% of people in the WORLD are morons 
.
But perhaps you have been exposed to a bad group of fliers where you are at. Maybe you've been doing things to offend them in some way? Or maybe you should be helping to change this statistic (for the better) instead of just complaining about it?

Generally I agree, BUT your %%%%% are a little off.. In 50 + years in business, I find that 85% are doing as told, 5% follow, 5% lead and get the arrows in the back, the rest are the morons....They are known as the flying fumble f--ks

I think most people are very adept a a certain thing, even without formal schooling....
...But I also think that most don't know how, or can't, function/interact socially.
It's more of a personality flaw or character flaw than being a moron.
Although it appears that way.
(No, I'm an engineer...learned this from my son-in-law who is a psychiatrist and he sees the people we call morons or idiots everyday drive up in Mercedes' wearing US$1000 suits)
Wanted to add one thing.....Asked him about the R/C hobby in general and he said it is socially-restrictive and introspective unlike team sports. He said people migrate to where they're comfortable. I think he told me in a nice way I'm an introvert and I'm socially handicapped!

I know someone who has what he calls the 2% rule. This is that only 2% of the american population are actually intelligent. If you would like to prove this fact to yourself, simply go driving on a highway. There was a 15 minute back up because of stupid people rubbernecking, like they had never seen a cop car with the lights flashing.

I think the new rc flyers need a little more leigh-weigh in understsnding, They don't have the skills and experience
I think that broadcasting on a public forum that any secton of society are morons, is an effort buy the poster to degrade others to enhance his own acceptence
I think that we all have a right to voice our opinions and are thoughts as too who is a moron or in your case, a complete self centered happy in you're own judgments world.
