Here's one of a minute or so of Frank with his EF Extra, last month in Kentucky.

EDIT : Finally figured out the trick to embedding the video.

Close enough if you fly with US. Just ignore the caps. This site isn't playing nice with my new tablet. [&o]

As long as I'm posting things, figured I'd share this here as well.

For those who aren't aware, Frank took leave of his senses a few weeks ago, and decided to sell his big EF Yak (Airframe only). He offered it to me for an attractive price, took me about 3.2 nanoseconds to hit reply and tell him to consider it sold.

The airplane was in the shape you'd expect for one of Frank's birds...which is to say, flown regularly, but well cared for and maintained, and ready for another 500 flights...

Except for one problem....what is that god awful logo on the cowl???

A call to B&E graphix was in order, pronto!

The results of the call arrived today...

Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch better.

Indeed, Frank.  No doubts about its power, but it'll be a long time before I have as many flights on it as you do that 100 of yours.

All in good fun!

My good fortune while flying a horribly mal-balanced Extra yesterday was having the support of you guys.........that was a lucky plane to have safely bounced its way back to earth, with only a tad of help from two very shakey hands. Thanks for all your help in getting it to a CG that would later fly!

Dust off those planes if you still have one, and come fly with us sometime. The weather is just now starting to get right again after a long hot summer.

You didn't miss as much as you might think. Rain got to us about 4-5ish, and the forecast updated to call for rain tomorrow morning as well...so we packed up and scooted back home.

Everyone got 2-3 flights in though, and most of the airplanes worked pretty well. Scott had some trouble with his biggest Yak...but other than that, we had some successful flights.

Even managed to get a couple of pics of mine down low with the smoke on!

I do like the new decal! Looks better in the last couple pics while it's in the air then it does in the first! At least the weather has been nice up here. A little on the windy side, especially in the afternoon/evening, but sunny all week and the temp has been perfect. I am ready for a couple days at home tho aye.........

That is exactly what we are doing. I did sale the Wild Hare but have everything else. Got them cleaned up and replacing batteries this weekend. We are cutting the field today and ready to fly. Felling the bug again after a few year layoff. Maybe soon we will come visit. I'm through your town every week or so going to visit my daughter, graandson and son-in-law.
Been into a Jeep CJ7 restore for the last year. Really enjoying that project but eats lots of time and more money than R/C if you can believe it. And just like R/C, you will never get the money back. LOL

Hey, have any of you ever try to balance your plane without the wings on? How did it work out?

Poorly, since the CG is relative to the wing.
