Tachometer
i am making a tachometer for my electronic engineering project (final year woohoo!) and was wondering if anyone has made one of these and can give me any ideas / tips for a starting point or knows of a forum that deals with this sort of thing.

A Tach for an RC engine or for a car engine?
RC: Probably a hall sensor on the front of the crankshaft, and circuits that can count and decode that information
Car: Go to Autozone and buy one for 40 bucks.

sorry should have phrased that clearer. Its for my airplanes. Im just trying to get as much info on them as i can to help me out.

Thanks John. Only just got on the internet tonight, been putting finishing touches to my plane. From what i did read from the pdf file it does look very useful.
