I bought a boat from him on this siteand paid him 3 weeks ago and he still has not shipped me the boat . Responds to every 4 emails. Anyone have any dealings with him? He lives in Bosie,ID.

If you paid him three weeks ago and he has not even shipped it yet, I think it is time to get a bit concerned about it. Assuming you paid with PayPal, don't let the time expire in which you can lodge a claim. I think you have 45 days, but I am not sure of that. Somebody else will probably confirm or dispute the time.

I used paypal and have until the 28th to get my money back. I'm so frustrated with thisguy it's crazy. He says he is going to ship it the next day and then you don't hear from him for 5 days and then he says I didn't get it shipped. We will see what happens............................

Start a dispute with PayPal. They will politely suggest he ship the item. Once you receive it, you can drop the dispute.

I would 2nd and 3rd and 4th the above post. Any excuse or reason for a delay is reason enough for doubt. File the complaint, you can drop it later with no harm no fowl.

Start the dispute today. There is no legitimate excuse for this.

One delay, no big deal, stuff happens.

But, stuff does not happen over and over again...

He's either very disorganized, going through a major life crisis, or he's stealing from you. As others have said, if he winds up delivering you can drop the dispute with absolutely no negative consequences to either of you.

This guy wouldn't happen to be from NC would he? Another RCU member and I have been going through the same bit from a real loser that come to find out, has been banned from RCU several times and is in fact serving time currently for fraud. Imagine that!!!!!! Luckily, I got my money back but the other guy is still waiting.

You should be down in the boat forums instead of up here. The name sounds familiar and I don't think that it was for a good reason. Try a Google search on his name to see what pops up.
What I've learned about this site is that I thoroughly check out any seller. I click on their name and see if they have any posting history on this site and see what their postings are. If they have zero postings or very few, I pass. See if they have any feedback from previous buyers. This isn't "The Dock" as most members there know one another or know someone who knows that person. There are Scammers on both ends, buyers and sellers so it's always buyer or seller beware. John tries to do a good job on keeping up with the bad apples but he's only one man trying to cover the whole RCU Marketplace.

Being patient worked !!!  I received the boat yesterday after tons of emails and promises. That was a long 4-5 weeks. Thanks for all your comments.

4-5 weeks waiting for delivery is still a long time as if somebody has an item for sale, it should be ready to ship. You can leave him feedback in the Marketplace on his Trader rating. As far as excuses go, I think that we've seen them all after a while.
