Default Food for Thought

Recently I placed 2 separate orders with Tower and one went UPS the other USPS. Here are the results:

1. USPS (Postal)
Ordered: 8/16 - Delivered - Still Waiting so far 7 Days
Route of Travel: Champaign IL. > Roanoke, VA > New Orleans > Tulsa

2. UPS - (Big Brown Truck)
Ordered: 8/19 - Delivered: 8/21 Yesterday Travel Time: 2 Days
Route of Travel: Champaign, IL > Decatur, IL > St. Louis > Lenexa, KS. > Tulsa

Not that I expected either package quickly because I picked standard shipping. However, BBT (Big Brown Truck) 2 Days/ 5 Cities; RWBJ (Red, White and Blue Jeep) 4 cities/ 7 days and counting. The UPS package was 8 lbs (ARF) ....USPS is 3 lbs (power supply)

What is even more hilarious is that the USPS package is on Priority Mail. Now I have my issues with the BBT, not in this case.

UPS holds themselves accountable with date specific delivery to most locations. They even refund your shipping charges on certain methods if they goof. A whole industry almost sprung up over this about ten years ago.

USPS - not gonna happen

It sort of makes me realize why USPS is losing tons of money. My brother in-law works at USPS in Chicago and has been transferring all over to stay employed. But it is performance like this that makes one wonder even without a refund.

Have used UPS regularly for deliveries from China to Australia.

UPS has been consistently fast - latest was ordered on 23rd July, delivered to Sydney on 26th - 3 days.

Two recent deliveries using Sing Post from the same supplier, and exactly the same product yielded very different delivery times.

1. Ordered 22nd July, arrived 29th July - 7 days
2. Ordered 6th August, arrived 22nd August, 16 days.

How can the United States Postal Service ship a package from China to Australia? USPS only deals with shipping in the USA....
had to add 2 charactors to send reply.

LOL.. sorry, yes you are right.. they were singpost. My bad, I order so much stuff I forget who ships it.. . the UPS one was definitely UPS though... I have used USPS internally in the USA a few times earlier this year, generally takes less than a week I think. I have corrected my original post (which now makes it irrelevant to this thread.. sorry to the OP)

That's the down side of forums. People say things that are impossible, and then some people take them at their word.

So as a lesson to new forum readers, don't believe what you read until you see it several times by other members.

Rob, no apology needed. I got a kick out of the reply. I was about to let my brother in-law know he could now transfer to Sydney

In another words if a few people write the same thing on the internet it must be true? I guess thats why people will believe someone who post 1000 times with 1 year experience over people with 100 posts and has 30 years of experience

Yeah, something like that. There used to be a name for posters that would write as many posts as they could so they could run up their post count. It seems that the more posts a person has, they more they know and able to pass on to the unsuspecting. If you go back and look at their posts you will find a lot of one word posts.

Seems to me that would be a huge waste of one's time. The statement..."Get a life."...comes to mind.

LOL.. Frank, I have this creepy feeling you are stalking me all over RCU?

I was actually smiling to myself as I typed the correction to my mistake because I knew you would reply.. you couldn't resist an opportunity like that..

Thumbs up for your predictability..
