Why do we have to be inundated with tomato ads and womens clothing ads. It seems every aspect of our lives is crammed with ads.

Is there a way to stop this or does RCUniverse get paid for including them?

This site is a business, they need to have income from some source. It's free to use by members, although some pay an additional fee. There are ways to deal with the ads as noted above, but the easiest is to either don't click on them, or click on those that are more related to the hobby. Good luck!
