Default HARDWARE ADVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys I am mid way thru the construction of my Columbo Anderson 27% Extra 300 85 inch wing span and I am ready to start putting the hardware stuff on, control horns, linkages, pull-pull etc. I have seen so many different types of hardware parts. My confusion is that I would like to order or use the whole(most) hardware setup from one company. This will save shipping, parts work together better, and will save me from spending half the year shopping around. Please give me some suggestions,,, thanks..

On a 27% your not going to find anything on Towerhobbies. A couple sites that come to mind that offers nice stuff for your application.

I like the Dubro Heavy duty control horns they have. I think they are plenty strong to use them on a 27%.

Ask over in the Giant forum and you'll get a better response I bet.

I don't know about getting parts to work together better... 4-40 is 4-40, 3mm is 3mm. Ive never had a problem mixing and matching parts from various vendors.

For a 27%, if you are looking for "standard" type equipment, which will work, Tower is fine. Use Dubro 4-40 swivel Ball links, 4-40 rods, 4-40 threaded couplers, heavy duty control horn and high strenght servo arms.

If you desire more specilized equipment, you can order all of the above in addition to special items like ball bearing bell cranks for rudder, one peice rudder horns, etc. I've used Don's hobbies (www.donshobbyshop.com) They carry stuff mainly for giant scale.

Central hobbies is really more geared towards pattern. Nothing wrong with Central (I use them all the time for my pattern ships) but they don't carry any giant scale items.

Quite honestly, for a 27% plane, I wouldn't bother with the fancy gizmos. Most gizmos are geared for 35% and above. Just use good quality 4-40 or equilavent hardware and you will be fine.

Nelson makes good gizmos... used a few myself. Don should carry the Nelson line as that is where I bought some Nelson stuff before.

Also can check Sure-Link, SWB, etc. Goto the links page on www.carden-aircraft.com for more info.
