What are your aspirations as an R/C Pilot?
I am curious to see where the primary focus is for the majority of us. Though you may have multiple areas of interest, please choose the primary one that keeps tugging at you, even if you are not currently there yet!
Thanks!

I started flying in the late 50's with my dad and brothers. By the time I was in High School, I was flying Junior Division Pattern. I have done everything from 1/2A to 46% plus a little U/C FF and Helis.
Now, I just like to make things fly, and help others do the same

Some people build to fly, others, like me are just the opposite. I want to be able to fly everything I want to build. I'm not looking to be the best pilot at the field, but I don't want to embarrass myself either, although I do expect to go for my instructor's certification by the end of the summer.

I finally competed in IMAC last year and that's what I want out of the hobby. I don't have any preconceived notion about airplane size though.
For me, competition aerobatics brings a purpose to flying. Every time I go to the field I practice at least a little, sometimes a lot. It's very rewarding tracking my personal progress. Last year I took home first in Basic and this year I'll probably get smoked in Sportsman. I'm improving though and that makes me feel good.

I enjoy a catagory that I don't see listed-- May be just me-- but I like SCALE AEROBATICS!!! I got a funfly for my 3D playing and the such. But when I am flying my Bipes and Extras I like to fly the same stuff I see at the airshows-- smoke and all.

Simply, I just want to keep improving my flying in General. To do this, I just think the more I fly the better I will get. I am interested in racing, but give a go as much stuff as can.

Right now I fit in the General Sport Flyer category. Mostly .40 and .60 sized planes. Seems that everyone dreams of moving up to 1/4 scale or larger. I'd like to in scale. I have a thing for WWI and Golden Age biplanes. Not yet, but $oon.

"Scale aerobatics is IMAC..."
Not the way I fly
Seriously though, IMAC is not a big thing here in my area, and if it were I would not compete. I just like to make holes in the sky and listen to everybody say "wow-- did you see that?"

RE: What are your aspirations as an R/C Pilot?
My aspirations? Enjoying the company of others with a similar interest and hobby. Flying whatever gets my interest at the moment, which is reflected in my hangar contents (small electrics, sport glow, 3D, scale, giant scale aerobatics, and turbine jets). Helping new pilots and others with any knowledge that I can pass on that I've learned over the years. No particular aspirations regarding the level of competency achieved.
But in general, its giant scale aerobatics and turbine jets that has all my attention at the moment.
