I do,[X(] That's the reason they call me "ONE-A-DAY" at the field.

10 or 12 trainers, 4 H9-330S's, 2 Lazers, 1 Extra 230, 5 or 5 Exrea300's, Christian Eagle, Wildhare Edge, H-9 Edge, 1 Razzle, (in the last 4 months) heck, If they have made it, I have crashed it.
Our local HS Owner now has expanded his building, Purchased A new motor Home, and TWO new tractors to cut his flight line. When I walk in he rolls out the RED carpet. I am directly responsable for keeping at least 1000 people at work and off wellfair and unemployment, therefore, contributing to the fact youall don't have to pay as much in taxes and have more $$$ to spend on planes.

I'm one of thr GOOD GUYS !!!

MinnFlyer,
Ever try to pick up a 28 pound 33% airplane and balance it on 2 fingers?
Yes.

But for that I use an assistant... Sometimes my assistant is a tripod.

PS, a CG machine would go right through the wing anyway

Another option is the one Dick Pettit had in his RC report column;

Anyone who would pay $60 plus shipping to find his planes' CG, should consider paying a professional to find his own "CG"!

that sling was in the recent RCM&E under tips, only they had it around the wings and it just didn't work. i can't see it being accurate anyway

i just use my fingers or the edge of a ruler, good enough for me.

Take a look at the post "taking out the guesswork" in the Wild Hare Support Forum. Pretty easy set up and will get things close enough to fine tune from there.

Sounds like the engine incidence is off. That plane engine combo should not need weight on the front, what is a ton?

Trim it for straight and level flight at 3/4 throttle. Do a fly by and when it is in front of you (several mistakes high) chop the throttle and see what it does. If it piches nose down you have too much up thrust built in to the engine mounting and need to correct it.

After that is worked out do the same thing but roll it inverted at 1/2 throttle. It should require very slight elevator stick pressure down to maintain level flight.

My guess is your incidence and CG are both off.

You can buy a special lid with holes in it that fits on a Tuna Can so you can drain the water out.
TUNA IN WATER???[:'(]...must be one of those diet foods...

dave
I have one of those, that thing rocks!!!! I had a harder time finding a normal can opener than that thing. Just goes to show you, the newest craze in products tends to cause issues somewhere else. And yes, I like my diet food even thou I don't need to diet, I couldn't imagine a world without tunafish sandwiches!?

For the one picture is worth a thousand words types, Here's my 100 cc 25 lb. extra on the balance rig. By sliding the bar through the hanger the plum line shows you the CG when you get it hanging in the flight attitude. Start with the plane on a table or the groung and the hanger through a pulley in the cealing. then carefully lift the plane while adjusting to bar till a correct flight attitude is achieved,
Now you can move stuff around inside until you get it to balance where you want. Safe, easy, cheep.

Hi Guys - It sounds like cheaper and easier is the theme on how to build something for doing the CG. I have had the GP CG balancer for years and it has worked great for the smaller glo planes, but then as most of us do, the planes started getting bigger and heavier [8D]. I looked at the GP balancer and decided I should be able to just upsize it, SO, one day when I had a couple of spare hours I built this . It does great, and the bars the wings sit on don't go over center due to how I've got the channel placed down over the bar stock. About the only thing I need to do is put some wing nuts on the angle at the bottom to make it easier to change the width when I need.
