Who do you remember
Glen, Hazel, and Maxie. Being a dealer for many years and watching them make the hobby grow. Building their kits and seeing what they have done for model aviation. THANKS people for your dedication to the hobby.
Whoo is your Idle. The old quick built that took for ever to build but flew great, profile in the future or was this an ARF

My first kits as a kid, 40 years ago, were Goldberg control line and free-flights so I consider Carl Goldberg as one of my heroes growing up.
Frank Zaic, Glen Sig (shortened last name because I don't remember how to spell it), and Nick Ziroli are people I have also admired.

The current living Legends Tatoo and Kraut of S.P.A.D. When I was starting this hobby and running out of money and paitence from crashed planes they showed me how to fly free Pepsi and Coke signs .Ild have given up otherwise . Still the most fun for the buck and an excellent platform to build your skills on with out depleating the contents of your wallet ..THANKS GUYS !!!!

Yo Art,
How about Lou Andrews or Phil Kraft? It['s too bad that Lou Andrew's kits were gobbled up by Great Planes, then discontinued...

My man is Miles Reed. I finially got a chance to meet him at Joe Nall this year. I still remember my first IMAA meet I attended in 1989 and it seemed like most of the planes were his design for the giant aerobatic flyers. Gerry Neal, OW Manness, Warren Thomas--seems like all of them were flying his Weeks Solution X. Here is it quite a few years later and after owning (and still possessing many of) his planes and a lot of others, His are still at the front of the pack! And they are strong as an OX and packed with wood--and still fly very light.
BTW-- Got my latest Miles design on the way, suppose to be here before the end of the year. A scaled down version of Sean D Tucker's Challenger.
While theyare still around and going strong, I too admire Bruce Tharpe and Dave Patrick. I think they were the innovators of the "build-em-light" way of thinking.

Frank Garcher. Frank started Midwest Model Products. I worked there as a kid (this is ancient history) and he was a great guy to work for. He was a great piano player also.

Chuck Cunningham - Loved his column in RCM. Built one of his designs (Turbulent). Met him at a Thunderbird event in Fort Worh. Quite a gentlemen.
