Default K & B superpoxy

I still have a ton of superpoxy paint from years ago but no thinner. Does anyone know what would work as a reducer/thinner or where I could buy some? thanks.

J roc,
The complete line of epoxy products sold by Klass Kote work with K&B. I also use Martin Senour 3094 and 3095 laquer thinner with K&B and Hobby Poxy. I have had an occasional problem with my old paints that they will gel up when mixed. I talked to the Klass Kote rep at Toledo this year about that and he said he had investigated that because another customer had mentioned it. He found that the problem was in not thoroughly mixing the part A before mixing A and B. I have been inter-mixing K&B, Hobby Poxy, and Klass Kote. I have found K&B to be impervious to straight laquer thinner after one day; KK and HP don't seem to be. That's the only difference i can see.

MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) may work. The stuff is nasty and will give you cancer in California, but in Canada you should be safe. It dissolves dang near anything and works well for thinning epoxies. You can often find it at auto paint supply stores, either as "pure" MEK or in reducers that have a high percentage of MEK.

Everything in California gives you cancer. Even the people.

MEK is the main ingredient(if not the only one) in K&B thinner, so it should work fine.....Jim
