Rudder alone was probably inducing a fairly strong roll tendency right?

RE: Lets see your Biplane!!!
rcaddict NICE !!!!! Good luck on the maiden,, She looks great.
Cutaway Actually it was so windy I didn't really put her through too much testing, on the video of the crash landing (I think that video) you can hear the wind whipping pretty good,, I'd have to say between 25 - 35 mph at times, so actually the bipe flew kind of like a brick, very suttle moves had to be used,,,,, and If I tried to do a loop it would start the loop and then just want to snaproll out of it,,, it never completed a full loop once, it was a blast to fly though,, I love a good challenge, as long as you stayed level and kept up the speed she flew pretty good, I might try it again when its not quite so windy, I think that made a huge difference, The wind doesn't intimidate me at all, which is probably a bad thing,, LOL But I'm sure it would have survived if I could have brought her in a little hotter without a cross breeze,
there isn't much wing there with out the top wing, so at slow speeds,,, like landing speed,,, she gets pretty radical.. just have to glue the wing back together and it will be good to go again... Oh and I broke the the stabilzer as I tripped walking through the door with it when I got home.. It was a day of trashing planes for me I tell you. even when I wasn't flying them.

RE: Lets see your Biplane!!!
It sounds like the ragged edge of a stall if a slight increase in angle of attack is causing a snap roll. One wing will always stall first unless things like washout or a progressively thicker airfoil are used to keep the tips flying when the center is stalling. The tips on that aren't too good for this sort of thing, you'll see a lot of outflow and turbulence off them which isn't such a big deal when there's lots of area.
You might consider fitting tip plates with say a 1/2" fence. That might improve it quite a bit.

RE: Lets see your Biplane!!!
I bet it would improve it, also a bigger motor might help, But I intend to keep flying her as a Bi-plane and only as a mono plane when something has happened,,, like the struts were broken a week ago,, so I needed something to fly as I didn't have time to repair them, Hence the mono-wing bipe,,, Now I have to repair the struts, the wing, and the Stab,,, LOL,
My Ultimate has an OS .46 for the horse, I really need to throw something bigger on there. she flys pretty nice, but I need it to be a little more acrobatic with Power... she does beautiful lazy loops and snaprolls, I need some high speed performance out of her. I have an OS 70 4 stroke I think i'm going to throw in her, or a G2300 Super tigre,, and if that doesn't work I'll need to find a 351 cleveland.

RE: Lets see your Biplane!!!
We modified the wing tips, center section of the top wing and vertical and horizontal stabs.Recovered it in Super Coverite fabric. It was a Great Planes ARF.

RE: Lets see your Biplane!!!
My new one is coming along nicely. Lots of modifications such as the in flight adjustable horizontal stab, and bunches of other Waco tricks. Here is is with the last year's version too.
