Good East Coast Supplier Not TH or Horizon?
Got spoiled when National was still in business and want to know if there is a good mail order company that can supply just about everything. And I don't mean Tower and Horizon, for one they don't supply just about everything, mostly just their stuff, and besides I'm not sure I want to support them especially Tower. Location somewhere on the East Coast would be preferred.

I should have stated that it should be an R/C aircraft supplier, and a web site would be prefered. Please give site address and/or phone number.

There's a great place here in Canada with great prices. www.greathobbies.com or www.ecmc.com both addresses will get you there.

Sorry, but Creekhobbies just are not inclusive enough. They pull the same trick as Tower, Horizon, in that they offer their own special line of products, so nothing from Williams, etc. And I want something from the East Coast of the USA. I don't want to hassle with exchange rates, higher shipping, etc.
I guess there is noting on the east coast to compare to Quantum Models or Sheldon's?

Maybe I am just having difficulty navigatting the site. But I cannot even find a fuel pump or even a screw on that site. And I thought AHC specialized on good screws....Ah. Maybe not.
National closed its doors last Sept. Had problems with debt and rent I think.

Sorry drandles, but Doug's seems to be part of the Horizon network. They have been buying up a lot of smaller mail order stores. Others include Hobbytown and Dons. The web page is now a duplicate of Horizon once you get to the listings.

The fact is, if you buy in the US you will not be able to "escape" Hobbico or Horizon. They are the exclusive US distributors of their respective product lines.
No matter where (in the US) you buy a Saito engine or JR radio, it comes from Horizon. The same goes for Hobbico and OS engines / Futaba radios. If you care to see all the brands involved, look here:

I said to call them. They can only advertise at the MAP price. I bought a DS8411 servo for $89.95 last week. Chief's Aircraft has thesame servos at a good price at $99 when ordered in quantity of 4 or more.
Their web site threw me off at first also. My brother kept telling me about great prices and I would go online and say what great prices.
Call 'em. Tell 'em Dale sent ya, they'll probably tack on an extra $5.00.
lol

I've had good service from Quantum Models
http://www2.mailordercentral.com/quantummodels/
Only thing you can't see if something is in stock on web site. Only once was something I ordered out of stock and they fired off a quick email to let me know. I'll continue to use them. Two days for 'brown airplane truck' to get to my home in NC.

I think Doug's is independent still. He is just hooked up with a distributors web page to do web selling. I was just in there a month or so ago when visiting my son. He lives just a few miles from a Doug's in Lex. Park, MD.
