Default Instructor Wings

Today I met another mile-stone. I earned my instructor wings. I've had some guys fly with me on the trainer cord, "3 mistakes high" of course. Nothing more than just some puttin around the sky every once in a while for a tank or 2 early before the club instructors showed up. Today, however, I successfully flew with someone and had them taking off, and then coming around for some landings. The student was rather experienced, but not until today was he ready for some approaches and landings. OUr Club instructor was out today, and unfortunately he and I were the only ones who weren't students. He asked for a little help and I accepted. Quite nerve raking at first, the student coming in low. There was a little crosswind which didn't help. But by the end of the day when the wind calmed down (and one prop later) my guy was landing. I think I might have been more excited than him. What a very satifying day. And I think you all for reading.

My old club had multiple levels. An instructor could be level 2 or 3 and a expert was level 4. If you could fly the IMAC sportsman routine, you could basically get through level 4. I use to think it was so difficult and never thought I could do it. Now, it is part of my practice routine when I want to test out a new plane. Funny how things change

Anyway, congratulations!
