Art "GrnBrt" passed away last night
Most of you know Art, (GrnBrt) RCU's Senior Forum Moderator. Art has been in the hospital for several days and is not doing too good right now. He is off the ventilator right now, but is still having difficulty with his breathing. He was heavily sedated for a while, but is able to talk to his family now.
I got home from Seattle yesterday but was not able to visit with Art due to his condition and my schedule. I have been keeping in touch with his wife, Peggy. She asked that I pass along this information to everyone on RCU. Art has been a moderator on RCU since the beginning and was also a moderator on the old RC Online. Over the past five years I have regularly exchanged messages with Art and I know he considers many of you his friends.

I have had a few private exchanges with Art in the past. One not even related to RC. He has always been freindly and helpful both in those exchanges and in posts right here. Hope you get better, Art. RCU needs ya!

Peggy sent me an email this morning.
What a fighter I have on my hands. Art is slowly doing better each day. He is still very weak and tires easly.
During the day they have him in a recliner chair and he doesn't want to get back in bed until evening.
At times he is a bit confused with things, and his speech is still slow, but he still has his sense of humor. All of this is baby steps to his recovery and I will be there taking every step with him.
We are getting ready to go up and see him and I will pass along the thoughts and prayers from everyone. I will keep you updated.

depfife, I have been out of touch for a couple of years and now getting back into the "norm?", the post of Art being in the hospital is a shock, Art is one I always loved to joke and "aggravate" , I hope his condition is a temporary one, I wish him a speedy recovery and our families prayers will be with him.....Bud

One of the other moderators, DavidAgar, is driving up to visit Art next weekend. Peggy thinks he should be in rehab by then. He still has a ways to go, but reports sound like he has started down the road to recovery.
