Jett and Pratt&Whitney powered bipe
I just found this video and am completly amazed. I'm sure there had to be a huge number of structural reinforcments made.

RE: Jett and Pratt&Whitney powered bipe
I met Jimmy a few years ago at a local airport airshow. i was able to get hands on look at the turbine mounted under the bipe, AMAZING.................. he uses the prop blast to spool up the turbine to get it started. it is a shame he is no longer, tragic on how he colided with another aircraft during a show.

The late, great Jimmy Franklin and the Masters of Disaster. Pratt and Whitney J-85 jet, the plane had a takeoff roll of less than 100 feet and a 10,000 ft/min rate of climb. You've seen Les Shockley's "Shockwave" jet powered road tractor? Shockley is the one who figured out how to put the jet on the WACO (modified UPF-7).
Franklin and one of his teammates, Bobby Younkin, were killed July 10, 2005 in a midair crash in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan.

I was lucky enough to see the masters of disaster several times befor Jimmy was killed. He also put his son on top of the jet bipe for a wing walking act like no other.

I to had the op. to watch his airplane fly down here at the Wings over Houston air show. I thank God that his son was not wing walking when he had the mid air. Beleave it or not when I saw him fly that thing the first thing that came to my mined was that man is going to die in that airplane. To this day i still can,t beleave anyone would push an old airplane that hard. It simply dosn,t make sense to me. Oh well what do I know.
