Do you know who the pilot/builder/owner of this plane is?
I have one of these models which I acquired through a trade. I have always loved this plane, not sure why but I just love it. My model has a 13' span and is ready to cover. I have never seen another model of this plane anywhere close to this size.
Anyhow, this picture was taken at Florida Jets this year by Jabba and I would very much like to find out who built it and if I can get intouch with them. If you know who the owner/builder/pilot of this plane is I would be very appreciative if you could get me in touch with this person. Thanks in advance.

Its a Pliatus Porter. I don't know whos this one is. I had one 10 years ago with a 72 in wing. These were used buy the US army and US Air Force over seas. They were never issued a certificate in the United States to fly. Swiss made I believe. In real life they were capable of very short take offs and landing on unprepaired surfaces. I mean really bad areas like the side of mountains and a couple of hunders feet.

Ted, that's the long nose version, or Turbo-Porter. A fantastic flying aircraft.
Do yourself a favor, and rent the movie " Air America". They use it in the film.

Thanks for the replies so far guys. I would really like to find out who it belongs to. I would also like any pics that people would like to share. I am not going to reproduce them, they would just be for my own use in detailing items and not the paint job on my model. If you have some pics you would like to share with me PM me and I will send you my email address.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

I put the Porters (full size versions, both gas and turbine) with the Grumman AgCat crop dusters. They are surely not the prettiest planes on the tarmac, but they were not meant to be. They are work horses of the air and once they're airborne they are fantastic to watch in flight. Two of my all time favorites.
