Are there any RC camps?
I was always wondering whether there were any week long (or shorter) RC plane camps where one coupld go to learn more advanced flying skills. For instance, I have been wanting to improve my 3D skills, which are minimal at this point and nobody at our field really does them. So it's hard to learn there. The sim I have is fun to practice on, but what good is it if you don't know how to do the manuever to begin with. I have never seen anything advertised in an of my RC mags either. Just curious....

RE: Are there any RC camps?
$629 for 4 days of lessons sounds reasonable to me, but I don't understand their policy about having to have gone to their Solo camp before you do the aerobatics course. They claim they make exceptions, but don't say what they are.

RE: Are there any RC camps?
I have several of their aerobatics books (I wish I could spend some time at their school) so I know a little bit about their system. The reason they want you to go to their solo school is because they want to make sure you know things that will take for granted in their more advanced course. In the basic course these basics are a requirement for comletion of the course so they know you have learned them.

Sounds like a rip off to me. Get a simulator

Okay, What's your point here. get a better simulator? Are you talking about the simple skill of hanging from a prop or precision aerobatics..

All shots aside, if you really want to become a damn good pilot, get into precision aerobatics, never mind this prop hanging stuff although you can incorporate that into a sideskill. I cannot tell you how many guys I know who can hang from a prop and at the same time, reckless, unsafe and no respect for anybody at the field but themelves. Kind of like watching some guy come into your parkng lot on a dirtbike and do "donuts"! So the heck what? Seeing some guy hanging from the prop in the middle of the runway is the peak of his skil level.
Get yourself a 120ish size Yak or something. After a season of this, youwil see how much more detail oriented and smoother you've become. There is also room for both and you got to have fun. Flying aerobatics can get boring. So in between flights get the old "Craptor" out.
