Which Bandsaw?
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.
In my shop, I have a scrollsaw, a pillar drill, a disc and belt sander, but no bandsaw for cutting straight lines. These are the ones I am looking at - what do you think?
[link=http://www.axminster.co.uk/product-Perform-CCB-Bandsaw-21701.htm]The cheapest. Are it's specifications poor? This one is the perfect price.[/link]
[link=http://www.axminster.co.uk/product-Jet-JWBS-9-Bench-Top-Bandsaw-208702.htm]This one costs alot more, and looks quite good - any problems?[/link][link=http://www.axminster.co.uk/product-Axminster-AWSBS2-Bandsaw-c-w-Cabinet-and-Rip-Fence-462917.htm]This one is really out of my price range, and I don't have much floor space, but then again, how much better is this one?[/link]
I don't need to cut very large material - anything large I can do outside with a jigsaw. It is mainly for using on ply (about 5mm) and MDF.

RE: Which Bandsaw?
I gave my brother a Ryobi table top band saw for Christmas. It runs very smooth and has a flat tabletop which is very good for small parts. For the price it is very good bang for the buck.

RE: Which Bandsaw?
Hard to say from here in the US.. different models on the market and all.
Can you go down to the store and check them out in person?
I'd see how smooth the rip fence is.. How's the fit of the T track.
Roller blade guides are a plus.. Ceramic is good.. block nylon are OK..
how much blade tension can you get?
easy to adjust blade tracking?
whatever you pick the best thing you can get is a good quality blade.

RE: Which Bandsaw?
In that case, it sounds like the second one is the one to go for. It is a good quality small bandsaw, whilst the other two are less good quality cheap bandsaws, even if one of them is bigger.
