That's what I do for a living. Over the next ten years or so about half the military aviation budget will be going towards unmanned aircraft. That includes some of the planned fighter aircraft that are currently manned.

The future of aviation related occupations is definately not with the airlines, it's with UAV ops. Other than passenger aircraft manufacturing it's the only part of aviation that's still booming.
