Default Backup System

I was watching the Nascar Race last night. (Wooo off topic). It was near the end of the race when apparently one of the lead drivers *&^% himself either by accidently shutting off one of the ignition switches or it failed. he fell way behind before he corrected the issue. So that gave those banana announcers something new to focus on and were talking of how many back up systems are on these things. Darn near have two cars in one. So much for the story.

I recall starting a thread on back up switches a few years ago but I can't find it.

So out of curiosity, any of you guys have back up systems, like switches, etc?

Running dual switches and rec. batteries in my 33% Extra. Was running dual recievers, but got tired of it and needed the other rec. for another plane.

I've never used a back-up system but then again I don't fly $5-6,000 airplanes either!

I've got a little write up on the back up system popular with a lot of Giant Scale modelers - the idea was passed on to me by Dick Allen a number of years ago and has been endorsed by a lot of happy modelers (except for Eloy Marez of High Flight).

Hey Mikey, every plane that I ever flew at Albuquerque, had the parallel pack's / switch's that Red describes.

I wouldnt fly a valuable giant scalie without it.
