Just getting back into RC after about 6 years. Needless to say I am extremely excited about it. Just finished up a Goldberg Cub. Have the engine on the test stand and I am doinf some break-in prior to install. Hopefully flying is like riding a bike......I also have a SIG Wonder...not exactly the plane you want to take out after 6 years...Great forum. Lot's of great info.

Welcome aboard!
I just saw a Goldberg Cub for sale on ebay the other day... the ad said it's rare, so enjoy your very unusual plane I have two of 'em, so maybe I should open a shop selling antiquities and curiosities.
You may want to reinforce the forward part of the cabin top a little, but it is a nice plane. Enjoy!
Oh, I also meant to mention... you can get a fairly decent R/C flight simulator free to run with your own transmitter these days. It may not be perfect, but for practicing landing flares and overcoming the tendency to lose perspective, it's great!

The Wonder is able to fly slow, and when set up with some differential aileron throw it can be a fairly gentle plane. You'll need to practice your hand launch techniques though... and better have one of the current/proficient pilots do the trim flight.. An untrimed Wonder is a blunder waiting to happen.
I'm using an O.S. .15 FP in mine. And I've used it in R/C combat to chase down .46 powered Gremlins.

good luck with the cub!
flying is like riding a bike, I had a neighbor a friend who I've known for about 4 years now, he started back in the hobby after a 4 year absence and started with the uproar. did fine, so will you.
