Some of questions asked you wouldn't get a straight answer from a manufacture on. It's in their best interest to keep you from knowing 'too much' about their equipment within reason of course so they can reap the benefits of repairing them. That and reps generally don't have the superior practical know-how that people that have used the products for years do. How long do you think they would have their jobs if they just faxed you their in-house documents that show you how everything works, and every customer complain they've ever gotten and probably cause of it? =)

Can't a moderator set it up so that all messages posted go to a temporary invisible forum so they can be checked over before they show up publicly? There is no other way to have a specialty forum without that level of control. I've seen a few messages in forums marked 'message deleted' that still show up for quiet a while and I'm wondering what the pupose of that is =)
