Guys:
I really got a lot out of this thread. After having all my birds crowded in on the floor of a small room, I went to Home Depot and bought the cheapest rack set up. (Single slot verticals and 14" racks, with the cheapest foam insulation tube for padding.)
Installed the verticals with #6, 2" screws, and hung everything up. Takes longer to talk about it than it did to do it. The left rack has a GP DR-1, an RCM Das Ugly Stik, and a Lanier Mariner 40. The far rack has a Pavel Bosak PITN QF-4N, a Sig Wonder, and a GWS Slow Stik. There's two empty racks below the Slow Stik that will accept the Topflite 1/7 F-51D when she's finished.
I'm jealous of the nice, tall garages some of you have that allow storage above the door. Even if I had one, tho, I couldn't do that. Gets too cold here in the winter.
Regards.

Mustang:
Your storage plan looks pretty good to me. This hobby makes you creative and looks like you stepped up to the plate and did it.

I have worked on a flexible stand design, see what you think. I can handle as many as 8 planes of any size. I also have a folding work satnd for the bench.
Until I can figure out how to post some pics go to www.hangorstand.com to see them.
