Identify Old Plane with OS 91 4C
This plane and engine belongs to a friend of mine. I helped him learn to fly last summer, and he is doing excellent. Looking to find out what the plane is and get more info about the engine. He said the engine is an OS 90 or 91 4C. As you can see, the glow plug and rockers are reversed compared to new 4C's. Thanks in advance for any info. Jeff

Thanks Leo.
Jim,
I'm almost certain that it is an OS. I didn't see the actual plane myself, but I think there is an OS logo on top of the engine that is visible in the left pic.

that is the second generation os 91fs from the early 80's. they had a rear cam and front plug. they have a reputation as a knuckle eater because the glow stick is canted towards the prop. I had the exact engine.

Like Leo and Flyboy Dave have already pointed out it is an OS 90FS it is not a 91. I too still have one it is an OK engine but not up to more modern standards in power. Where it can be troublesome is the tendency for them to eat litterly glow ignitors and leads.
Due to the forward angle of the plug the ignitors are on a steep angle very close to the prop. This is bad if you have a poorly fitting pocket ignitor as they can and do fall right into the prop. Also the twistoff types can be very scary in removing from the running engine.
