Spektrum 6100 and no BEC ESC

Need some help. I have a DX6I, 6100 receiver, and a ESC with not bec, running a 700 MAH receiver pack. I power receiver up and then plug battery in to ESC and nothing. No beeps. Any ideas?

Plug the battery straight into the receiver. If it doesnt power up, the receiver is bad. If it does, the bec on the esc is bad. My 6100 has a bec. Not much use without it.
