Default Site help needed

I know that as I get older, I get slower. In fact, I rarely drive more that maybe 10-12 mph over the posted limit, regardless of conditions any more.

My question deals with something that just happened to me for maybe the fourth or fifth time since I joined this site. I haven't had this happen on any other website I'm a member of.

How long, when one is submitting a reply to a topic, does one have before hitting a timeout? I just spent about 20 minutes or so typing a reply to a post, and after proofreading and correcting a few misspellings and punctuation problems, I hit ok. The return was a notice of the site timing out on me.

Dont you hate it when that happens. Its happended to me too. I dont know what the time span is, it appears random to me. I have found that if you hit the back arrow a few times you can get back to your msg. Select it, copy it, start a new reply and paste it. Thats worked for me a few times. It doesnt look like RCU lets you save a draft.

Yes, usually hitting the back button will bring you back to your reply and you can cut and paste it to a new post.

I have gotten into the habbit of copying a post any time it takes a while to write just in case.

If you have a little application like Notepad you can leave the Forum, open Notepad, and take as long as you like to draft your reply. Then just copy it, go back to the forum and paste it into the thread.
