Default antenna trouble

i have a losi micro-t and have worn through the antenna from excessive bashing tough truck i might add.
can i replace it with a dif antenna or possibly a thicker one that wont wear through as easily

You can replace it with the same length and gauge (thickness) of wire.

Add some heat shrink tubing to the area that gets wear

The formula for figureing out the length of wire you need is: 234 devided by freq (in mhz) x12 to give inches. This the formula for a 1/4 wave length antenna which is what we use for out radio systems. Example: 234 devided by 72mhz=3.25X12=39inches

The formula stated above (while technically correct) is not applicable as there is an antenna matching circuit within the receiver that matches the antenna length by adding the proper LC values to match up with the typically 39 inch(1 meter) long antenna. You can replace it with any wire the same length as the original plus or minus an inch or two. Gage is not critical, can be anything that is manageable in your environment; typically anything from 30 to 22 gage stranded (for flexibility) insulated wire.
