Overall a good quality kit but a few irritating niggles. Just discovered all the fus formers are too short i.e., they require enlargement to be glued securely to the fus top and bottom - nearly 1/8 in too short in most cases. Very irritating and not what I would have expected from GP. Also had quite a few sticks that were warped including one aileron.

We're wondering if you're asking about the Great Planes CAP 232 .40 size. The bulkheads are glued to the fuselage top BEFORE the sides are glued on. The fuselage top, bulkheads, sides, and bottom are all slot-and-tab locking construction. They're all fitted together before anything is glued. The kit's been out since 1998, and this is the first we've heard about the bulkheads not fitting.
Any warped pieces would be replaced upon request. Just contact:

Bill,
I am almost complete with my GP Cap232 (40) and I had the exactly same issue with my kit. I did not take issue with you guys at the time, and just worked around it. In hindsight, I probably should have called it in, and you guys could might have checked into it sooner.
The fuse is built on the plans. After you've fitted everything together (before gluing, per instructions) upside down over the plan, you see where the formers do not touch the fuse bottom and top. On mine, I elongated the fuse side notches until the formers sat firmly on the fuse top. Then I deepened the notches on the bototm of the fuse side pieces until the bottom piece made full contact with the formers. Kept whittling until all the joints were tight. Then after gluing, I shaved the sides down flush with the bottom.
Get one if your current run of kits out and try it.....

Richard, thats exactly what I found and I'm doing much the same to solve the problem. If I recall the instructions correctly, the construction is not as Bill describes it - you assemble the sides and formers and top and bottom and glue the whole lot with thin CA upside down over the plan. Bill, BTW I'm in South Africa so kits, let alone replacement parts are very hard to obtain.
