Default Fiberglass Cowls

Flyboy,

I have a 1/4 scale L-4 that was cut from Jim Pepino plans. I think prehaps either Balsa USA or Sig might work there.

The hard one is a 1/5 scale PT-19, also cut from Jim Pepino plans. The cowl from the PT-19, Pilot produced is not 1/5 scale(slightly smaller). I had one of those. (Side note: my Pilot PT-19 survive about 11 years of my flying. It now rest along side(as a model)of the real PT-19 it was modeled after. The plane is now based with the CAF wing at Corsicana ,Tx airport)

The reason I choose Jim Pepino was that it was one of the most scale ones around.

I have been talking with Scott at IMP(since at one time they produced a PT-19 kit). Not sure if that will work yet?

hmmm, sorry, don't know where to go for that one. There is always making a plug and making a glass cowel. That is pretty easy to do. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

FlyBoy,

Thanks for the help anyway. I just got a email from Scott of IMP. The PT-19 they kitted was from the Pepino plans, so the cowl should work. They will have to make one as a special order since they no longer offer the kit but that just means alittle longer wait.

Again thanks
