Default 42% Engine cowl repair

Recently had an incident with my 42% Extra 260, ended up splitting my lower engine cowl in half right between the mufflers up to the opening in the cowl, about a 10 inch split. What do you guys with experience recommend in order to repair it. I really dont want to spend $150 for a new cowl, just a little to expensive.

Thanks
Shawn

A picture helps.
Start by washing the cowl with detergent and water, then wipe it down with alcohol. On the out side tape the pieces together, then lay up some 3oz glass over the cracks on the inside.
