Hi Norman, About 30 years ago,(don't how long that is in UK time), I flew about all the c/l events except for stunt. I still like to get the ole combat planes out for a fast flight or two. At least on a windy day, one can still fly with no problems. Seems like the launches are never the same and I can never guess where the plane is going first. Good to have new blood in the forum.

I agree about fast combat planes and the wind - who cares? I lost a lot of helpers with my Toothpicks (kind of like a Winder). It always wanted to flip back in their face, and they got too scared to launch anymore. Voodoo's and Nemesis's were a lot more stable.

The most unstable plane to launch was a "Quicker", never sure if it was going to roll straight across the circle, or flip inverted, had the wife launch one when first married, almost took her head off, never let her launch again. You don't launch a combat plane by standing behind it, you launch it by standing next to the outside wing, outside wing down some and engine pointed out of the circle. Engine torque has a tendency to roll the plane into the circle.

I too live in Broken Arrow, Ok. and am a member of the U/C Gluedobbers.
