Default Fox 25 BB

Anyone have any experience with a Fox 25BB? I just acquired what I think is a 25 although it could be the 19BB since it isn't stamped 25. I did notice it had an odd venturi held in place by a small set screw and the venturi didn't have any gasket under it. I might put a little RTV silicon under the lip of the venturi before re-installing it. The venturi measured out to .291 which seems a bit large although it seemed like the older plain bearing 19 and 25's from the 1970's had a fairly large venturi also. I'll probably use a 9-4 prop on it and let it rev like a 25FP. Since it's an iron piston motor I'll try to keep the oil content around 25% with a good portion of that castor . Here's a picture of the venturi. Does anyone know if this the stock needle valve that came with the C/L version. It looks like somethng borrowed from an older design. You don't see many larger engines using a coil spring to keep tenson on the needle valve much anymore.

Elwyn, will have the Wild Goose at VSC just for play time. It has Fox 25 plain bearing. Tried 10-4 then went to 10-5. Now it is flying with 11-4. All three were Top Flite Power Points. --DOC

Hi Doc! Looking forward to seeing you and the canard in Tucson. Got the cameras all warmed up and ready for action. I'm not looking forward to the drive but it's nothing compared to what Uncle Mikey will have to endure so I can't complain too much.
