Default os .20

Would this OS .20 fly a 30" combat wing, A Satan or voodoo style c/l plane at a good clip?

I have one running on a bladder on a FAI combat wing (approx 43" span) that is an absolute blast to fly! A 30" model would probably be too small.

Even without running it on pressure?

The model is intended for a hot .15. Probably more power than the OS 20. And I use 60 foot lines. Works great for 62 year old reflexes.

Voodoo=.19-.36
Satan =.35-.36
A modern schunerel .20 would do on these, an older .20 would be kinda dull my opinion.

Jr Satan = .15(down sized VooDoo)

Do not remember the Satan ever being kitted.

Hummn
Uploaded part of VooDoo plan and window said it finished-don't know where it went???????

I'm not up to speed on the FAI combat .15's, ie., what I called a hot .15. Some of the brands have been mentioned in the C/L combat column in Model Aviation magazine over the months.

I consider any of the schnuerles such as OS, TT, Fox, Magnum to be a hot .15...as opposed to the older baffle .15's.

Most of the older designs were designed before scnuerle (or even PDP) became available. For that reason a plane listed for a baffle .19-.35 can fly with equivalent power from a schnuerle .15-.25.

If you go back earlier to designs from the forties to very early fifties, the difference becomes even greater.

The plane that I remember for having the largest engine spread is the Señor Puddle Jumper which took .074-.30. The rectangular engine bearers could be mounted horizontal or vertical, with corresponding cut-outs in the firewall.

Take a look here. http://f2dnews.homestead.com/Info.html We are talking Cyclons, Foras, etc. etc.

George, I learned to fly CL on a Senior Puddle Jumper with a Cameron 19. I have plans and Cameron 19 and may someday build another.

Ok don't everyone laugh, can you explain or show what the differences are between schnuerles and baffle engines are?

Back in the fifties, mine had a MAX-I .15. The one I have on the board will have a MAX-III .15.

jayseas, baffle porting has one port opposite the exhaust to transfer the air and fuel mix to the upper part of the cylinder. As the mixture enters the upper cylinder, it hits the baffle on top of the piston which causes a swirling motion.

Schnuerle porting has transfer ports with booster ports to cause the swirling action because the piston has no baffle.
