I dont run the one way valve on suction but sounds like it may be a good idea to reduce the fuel loss that sometimes happens with full tank.
I do run a check valve on crank case pressure system like on Fast Rat to stop flooding during pit stops.
Valves are made from schrader valves from auto tires trimmed in O.D. and slipped inside silicone tubing.
The spring is probably to strong for suction/uniflow or muffler pressure.
The valve can kinda be taken apart spring modified and kind off put back together.
Another possibility is weakening spring by removing temper with a propane torch or Bic lighter.

I have a small, jealously guarded, stash of Kustom Kraftsmanship one way valves. A friend has made some similar ones, which did not work to suit him. He gave them to me but I have not gotten around to fooling with them. I think Jett Engineering has valves similar to the KK valves. There are some plastic one way valves on the market, but I have not tried them. The KK valves have a ball in a tube. There a tiny (#80?) hole on one end and the other is crimped to keep the ball in. The ball seats against the end with the tiny hole.
