Ringmaster remote control ( not u control) center of gravity

Just purchased a Sterling Ringmaster model fs 41 REMOTE CONTROL ( not u control)- would anyone know the point of center of gravity for this model?

On my fs-40 plan it shows 3 1/4" back from the L.E. The fs 40 is the kit. The fs41 is the Almost Ready to Cover kit isn't it?

Thank you and 41 is the arc KIT

the CG is usually 1/4 of the wing root cord width. The 3 1/4 inch that you suggested would make the wing 13 inches and my wing is only 11 inches. 1/4 of my wing width would be 2 3/4 inches. May I ask what the root cord width is of your wing?

This kit was originally designed around the sterling Fledgling. It was a trainer from I believe the early 70s. So the C.G. is more than likely back farther than needed just for stability. The farther forward the quicker the plane will react to pitch.

Thank you. Did you get my email with the picture of the Ringmaster logo?

I did not. And I hope this helps.

Have you ever flown a tail heavy plane? CG closer to the nose.

Or was it that the Ringmaster R/C came from the Fledgling? I could be wrong there.

A tail heavy plane has a rearward CG, very unstable at best:rolleyes:

Coriolan Yes you are correct my bad. rearward CG = Tailheavy not forward. Been a long week.
