The S Word is "Schienbeinbremsung" which could be translated with shinbraking... Cool video though. From the Commentary it was taken in Germany/Elsass.

1. that plane is a gorgeous piece of work. nice whoever did it!

2. that guyy should not have been in the way, if he was there for a reason he should have been farther back to help it or whatver his duty was. Good thing he wasnt hurt and the plane looked like it got away clean as well.

Here's my guess. You can easily see the runway is tiny and way too short for that plane. I bet he was there on purpose to stop it, but the intention was for it to touch down on the numbers not off the other end.

Just a guess, but I wonder if "Schienbeinbremsung" might be a soccer term for a goalie's save? Maybe "shin stop" or "shin save".

The 747 clearly tip stalls at about 10 to 15 feet just before touchdown. If the pilot didn't stall the plane, he would have landed on the numbers and he would have the entire length of the runway to bleed off speed. It probably has no brakes and that is why the guy at the end of the runway is needed

The pilot throttled up to gain speed to recover from the tip stall, which caused him to overshoot the runway. The nose wheel still hasn't touched down yet when it reached the end of the runway! The guy was just too slow to get out of the way.
