Death of the Jungman
My flying buddy Bryce Custer was the proud owner of a Buckman Jungman. Everytime this plane was sitting at the field it would be surrounded by admiring viewers. While in the air all you could hear were "oohhhhs" and "ahhhhs". Last week he hung a gas powered Moki (4BHP) on the nose and was wringing her out. Said it finally flew like it was supposed to. His second takeoff he went verticle 50 feet and then it happened...the motor died. If you listen close to the video you can me say those famous last words, "OH SH*&!". He nosed her down to get some speed up and almost pulled it out at the end but he hung a wing and then hung the whole craft. WHACK!
Check out the video here:

Bryce said later, "If your afraid of crashing you shouldn't even come out here. It's apart of the hobby man."

Speaking of which, has anyone else stumbled across the collection of funny 1980's movies of Jeff and Juhan? Man, there's some funny stuff in there. The link to their site is HERE Go to the Crazy 80's section. I recommend the 'Doubler meets park bench' and 'Biplane death' .mov files......you can't help feeling sorry for the guy in the biplane one, but man I laughed

Death of the Jungman
He thought he had it right until it went in. He said he just couldn't get the ele to pull it up (lack of thrust from the non functioning motor). He had a new Moki on it (I'm not sure what size but it was a 4 hp motor). The wings were almost unscathed. The fuse snapped in half. It was a really clean break. Nothing was damage hardware wize that I could see. The real drag is he had just finished a month or so ago and someone at the field landed their plane right on top of it (or crashed, whatever way you look at it). He spent a lot of time putting it back together and then this happened. He said he probably wouldn't rebuild it this year but he wouldn't throw it out either (he had a similar Buckman Jungmeister before the Jungman). We all felt really bad when it went in. I have video of him wringing it out the flight before the crash. I should put some of that up.
