Dead after first solo flight...
Below are before and after pics of my Super Sportster 60. My Instructor, through no fault of his own, was in control of my plane when it pancaked trying to pull out of a loop. The elevator pushrod tube had no support in the fuselage. Unkown since I bought the plane pre-built. When we looked at the pushrod it looked like a ~.

No I am not learning on a Sportster. If you could ask my instructor, he would tell you I am a natural LOL. He even let my fly his Sig Hog Bipe and I can exhibit almost total control of it for basic aerobatics. Of course I never say never I really wish you could have seen me fly it, It was a dream of a plane!

RE: Dead after first solo flight...
my instructor said that i am gonna set all kinds of records at my field like
~~the Yougest Pilot( at 13, that is kinda bad)
~~the Shortest time on Trainer boxing
~~the Least amount of training time
~~earliest solo flight
but i just hope that doesn't happen to me
i will be flying a PT-40, then the Extra 300s we are building right now ( look at my Extra 300s Building log in kit building)
Thanks,
Scotty

RE: Dead after first solo flight...
Well now I am scared to fly my delta vortex
It is still in the building stage.
But I have done a few records at my field
my mom's ex was the instructor
so like it or not I passed
I did that when I was 14
I am 15 now and getting into pylon racing and sport flying
and now I am pretty hesitant to just pull a prop hang
sorry for the plane crap happens but atleast no one was hurt or atleast you found it.
good luck on your Extra
Matt

RE: Dead after first solo flight...
Luke is the first I've ever seen take the stick and fly about five minutes and ask if he could make an approch and on the Ok decieds he feels that he can land and again with a shakey ~ OK ~ He made a good landing. And then Did a few solos. I have never seen this done on the first day. I believe the flight simulator is a great place to start for a beginner pilot. As his instructor I feel bad that the plane crashed but crap dose happen. The elevator push rod gave way[:-][&o] What more can I say...

Flying Wizard is exactly what you are! LOL I was amazed how you brought in your dead stick bipe..totally smooth! [8D] We are going to be flying together probably longer than you want to put up with me! HAHA!
Luke
P.S. Maybe we can get together on a giant scale project sometime, I am dying to try my hand at multi-engine planes!

I have had only two bad deals on RTF planes. One cost me the plane, the other made me invest in replacement parts before I could fly.

RE: Dead after first solo flight...
My new kit will be in in a few days. Same plane, but this time I will build it myself, with expert help. This includes help from these forums Going to use steel pushrods this time for the main control surfaces. Will probably do the gear mod as well to make it stronger and less likely to nose tip on landings. Thanks for the kind words all, it has taught me many valuable lessons
