My best friend and I were flying combat. Both of us buitl a Wild Thing .15 just for this and have loved it. Last week we had a slight midair resulting in a dent in my vertical fin from slicing open the bottom of his wing when it hit the leading edge of his wing. (He won the combat round as usual)
Today we were on round 4 with the score 1-1. We were tied up like a cat with a ball of yarn and POW! His plane cam fluttering to the ground nosed in at full throttle. After the collision he had no control. I landed thinking I was in great shape (comparitively I was) but a major part of the leading edge, trailing edge and main spar are saw dust on my left wing. It even popped the CA hinge nearest the root out of the slot.... The only thing holding it together is ultracote lol.
This is our third midair (first one was my Hobbistar .60 trainer vs his Somthing Extra .40. I won that one too) since we started flying together and somehow I seem to come out on top so far. It's gotta be luck, he's a much better pilot than I am. Maybe that fact that I use too much epoxy helps too! And since he can fly better than I can, the midair's must be his fault
The first pic is my plane. The others are what's left of his. We both bought all the wood to build another one on our way home. He bought his to build another one, I bought mine to build a spare for the next time I fly with him - I think it's gonna hurt [:@]

Well, I cut my wing open to see what was what. It looks like the top main spar is broke at the wing root, the first rib is dust and the second is splintered pretty good. The top of the leading edge pretty came off with the covering but I can drop some glue on the bottom side and be ok. The trailing edge is split where it is laminated and the ca hinge pulled out leaving the "fuzz" on the inside lol. Not too bad, but not sure I'll have it up for tomorrow or not.
