I was taking my Ace Grasshopper out for a spin on a day that was way too windy last week, at least for this hog of a .049, and experienced a new level of stupidity. I had two successful flights and was fueling to go up for number three. I got it started, picked it up to hand launch and that's when I realized that I forgot to pull out my antenna on the Xmtr, which was on a neck strap. I thought about it and figured I could launch the plane pull out the antenna and have controll of it before anything went wrong. Who was I kidding? I'm not Flash Gordan... I threw the plane and whipped out the antenna just in time to see the wind gust and tip the plane into a hard right bank into the ground. I figured that it'd be allright because this plane seems to be nearly indestructable, but then I seen something fly off in a strange direction after the first cartwheel. When I got over there I found that something which flew off in the strange direction and it was the engine and some of the bulkhead. I've attached the before and after's to show you all that it's NOT a good idea to multitask while launching an airplane.

ROFL - (I'm sorry, but that was just too funny).
Well, at least you had your radio turned ON
A friend of mines did something like that too once. Guy tried hand launching his plane only to realise that once in flight he'd forgot to turn the radio on ( and what was worse, his radio was still sitting on the ground )
I hope you get your plane both repaired and back in the air quickly[8D]
