Default Egg-ship-one crashes

Just wanted to share some photos of the Egg ship one which participated in a contest last week. The plane is made out of two plastic bottles, a scrap balsa wing and some more wood to complete the tail. The mission was to transport an egg 50m, but by air. We powered the egg carrier with three Estes D12 rocket motors. At the launch one of the engines exploded and took off ahead of the plane. I tried to control it, but I didn't realize that the fire ball was a motor, and not the plane. Examining a video afterwards made me realize that the plane flew under the fireball for a while, then passed it and hit the ground a bit further down. The twin tail came loose, as the aircraft was spinning like a propell. The battery, egg and some led was lost, but the rest was fixed within 1 hour. We will soon fly again.

If you look closely in the fireball at the ramp you can see the tail and some of the fuselage.....

Just a couple of frames from the film. The plane is seen below the fireball in the two last photos.
