Sunday....took all my planes that I hadnt flown, got out the p-51, which was by best looking plane, never done anything but taxied it, got it up in the air about 10 seconds later I guess it lost signal some how and went sprialing down at full throttle, not much left of it except the usual reusables, next got out the p-40 never flown either, the guy that owns the strip took it off to fly it, about 10 seconds later, it lost signal, and came spiralling down, I can fix it though with some time and balsa of course, this was 2 different recievers and transmitters, and flew the rest of the day on one of the transmitters with no problems, bad day, almost made me not want to push my luck with any of the others

Sun Spots and solar flares can play with RF signals from time to time, it is rare. I used to work in the brodcasting business and a couple of times a year it was an issue with the satellite feeds.

What a bummer , normally when 1 thing goes wrong at the field I just pack it up and go home , with the thoughts in my head " today is just not the day to fly"
sorry dude good luck next time .
PS where you the only guy at the field? sounds like you where shot down.

When I had the problem at the same time they had a thing on our cable stations saying there might be temporary outages due to solar flares or sun spots . It was in the spring I think .All my radios that failed that day were fine the next time I went out . There is a police tower about a mile away . Weather they crossed over in to my area that day we dont know .Sure was funny that day ..And expensive ..L.O.L...

well, to add to my record, that same day, i bought me a u-can-do-3d 60 size for a good deal, flew it once that day flew nice, took it out today, flew it around some brought it in to land and was a little fast so i was gonna go around for another pass and as i was climbing the engine quit maybe 20feet above the ground, and it just slowly went into a dive i had full up elevator but no room so it hit and snapped in half
im really dropping them fast

speaking of sims, we recreated the situation by killing the engine in about the position it was in and none of the planes would pull out of it, nosed in everytime
