I was flying my newly completed Four Star 40 ARF over the weekend and this is the result!!!!! I loved this plane it was so easy to build and it built very fast. The four star are great flying airplanes. This was only it's 6th flight. I was doing a low inverted pass over the field when I just let her get down to low and failed to recover in time. The plane hit the ground in a big cloud of dust!!! I stripped everything out and ordered a new kit the next day. Gotta love thos Four Stars!!!!!

Sorry for the loss. They are great planes. I have the 60 and had the 40 last year. Got rid of it and went to 1/4 and giant scale and decided I needed a throw around plane so I bought the 60.
Now all you need is a second set o f gear for the top of the fuse and you could land it upside down.

Glass the tail back on and patch the covering on that wing and you will have 2...

Maybe you can use it to perfect your inverted low level passes

Cheers!

You betcha!! Hell, IMO if you can count the remaining post-crash parts on one hand that rates only as an "incident", far from a total loss...

Seems to me your only problem is the cockpit, I mean after all, how can a plane fly without a pilot? Go invade your kids room(if you don't have any find someone who does), and start searching for your next pilot. I do believe in an earlier post it was already decided that one eyed pilots are no good, so make sure you find one with two or more. Buzz lightyear (graciously picked out by my daughter), just volunteered himself to pilot my next plane. Heck, I can have my daughter pick one out for you if you like
.
Good luck, and rebuild her, she deserves it.

N29BT,
Sorry about your crash. I know it hurts to see a plane hit the ground. From the looks of your pictures it doesn't look all that bad. I know at first it may have seemed really bad, but usually if you wait a few days and go back to it the damage won't look as bad. It happens that way to all of us. That just comes from feeling bad about crashing. I never make a decision to trash a crashed plane at the field just because of this. I will take it home and put it up for a few days, then I'll go back and asses the damage to see if it's repairable. From your pictures it sure looks like it can be fixed.
This is the first time here on RCU that I've seen vultures in here. Poor man crashes his plane and people are asking for parts from it. ouch.

yeah, that is totally fixable,,, i've seen field repairs worse than that..
some clear tape and some CA and accelerator and that bad boy flies again....
and if it's not pretty enough for you, then how about using it for some full contact combat?
now were talkin' !!
