RE: Gws Zero BELOW sea level (Movie)
I was flying a sailplane on the beach in Galveston, TX. On the base leg I went out too far. I turned on final, the wind picked up and I ditched at sea just short of the beach. I did a good sea landing but water plashed under the canopy and got the rx wet. Instant destruction of the rx. Salt water works wonders on electrics.

RE: Gws Zero BELOW sea level (Movie)
I was more lucky[&:]
my plane too crashed near shore, but it's winter time so it took me some 20 minutes to rescue it. But it's a foamie zero, so it's a bit splash-proof. But still when I recovered my plane, nothing was working.
At home I opened and washed rx and ESC with a lot of fresh water, then I let all dry overnight in a dry and warm place... and now everything work great. [X(]

Looks like pilot error to me.
Looks like pilot error to me.
I was sure I had enough clearance to do a reversed loop, but sea level was TOO HIGH fo me!
