it was taken off with the control locks still in place,he was calm because he was shocked.if you see a full size crash from that close it gets you like that,i couldn't think straight for quite a while when i saw one.

I wonder if cargo on board shifted to the rear as soon as he rotated. If it didn't it looks like a suicide because I didn't see the elevator reacting to that kind of maneuver.

Partway down there is a link to a crash analysis by Bombardier Aerospace product
safety manager James Donnely. Here is a link to that:
http://www.asasi.org/papers/2001/Fou...0Accidents.pdf
In it you will find the bit about the copilot being the cameraman's son. Just awful.

Incredible lack of safety not performing a 6 point check....WOW.......And these were TEST PILOTS with an engineer onboard....
On my PPL checkride about 4 years ago, i was told the examiner liked to see a second control surface check right before taking the active runway as the lights, camara, action check just to make sure everything was right and also due to the fact he operated a grass strip airport with lots of rocks that like to make their way between the planes hinges!!
So needless to say i saw his impressed look when i did perform that second check....Ever since then, i picked up that habit even with R/C!
