They all look ugly exept the showtime 50, and that is too expensive. [] I really like the way the showtime looks, anything else that looks as good as that one but cheaper?

Holy crap look! Typhoon2!

It just looks wierd, especialy with the canopy up front like that. Even still, it costs alot. I was thinking about something in the 130$ range. The less, the better. Your funfly looks nice, cheap too, 99$, but don't like the clear covering, I'll look into pheonix models, they are cheap and look nice.

Do they both fly the same? And I don't really trust a cheap company like this, unless somone has had previous experiance with them.

Finished it, I edited the first post. Once it dries up i'm gonna test fit the wing to see if it's right.

Just stumbled upon this..

I have the exact same plane and dumb thumbed it and snapped the entire front off as well as the wing. 3 hours later, I swear, it was patched and ready to go. Flies great. 3 hours counts the drive to the hobby shop to get some covering.

Let us know how it goes.

Great plane, flies like straight and dosent nose up when you go too fast. I spent 20min a day for 3 days fixing it, and it's done.

Just wanted to chime in cuz I noticed the comment from the guy who flys till he's out of fuel. Me and my buddy pretty much do the same thing. The only flameouts we have are completely expected and intentional. All I do is fly till my engine "burps." Once I hear that I know I have about 30 seconds of running time left, so I turn for landing. The engines we run are just that reliable... I'm also curious about something... what is up with the fascination with these UCD3-D's?

Might go with a TT 60, may go to the hobby shop and buy it along with some covering. I don't think im gonna bother with the paint schemes, just gonna get plain white covering and cover over the bare wood.

Just keep in mind that this is just a taildragger trainer, and if you guys really feel that im ready for a 3D plane, I can just lower the rates alot and grow into it. Or do you feel that I should buy a low wing scale plane, something less intense like a Lancair 52. Only other low wing experiance I have had is with my parkzone focke wulf 180.

edberg you can tell that the yak 54 and 52 are 3D planes by looking at the control surfaces and wing area......You are definately ready for a 3D plane and i can help you maiden it just like your La flyer.(the TT 60 would be perfect for the plane.)

Noooo... don't waste your money on a .60, all you'll get is a *much* heavier engine with not a lot more power.

A good 46 (say the TT46Pro) weighs in at under 17oz with muiffler. A typical 61 weighs in at around 24-26 oz with muffler -- that's a *lot* more weight.

A good 46 puts out about 1.5hp, a good 61 will do 1.8 or so (if you're lucky).

So that's an extra half a pound for an extra 0.3HP -- just not worth it.

If you want a larger engine, go straight to a .75 or .90. Most of these engines weigh exactly the same as a .60 but put out more HP and cost very little more.

Super Tigre and Magnum make pretty cheap .90s (but the ST's throttling is not so good), or you get the highly praised Tower 75 which is a real power-house. Avoid the GMS76 though, it's proven to be rather problematic in some cases.

Great news! That yak 54 seems like a nice plane.....ae you still going to get it? I saw a thread on it in the 3D forum everyone liked it. i was thinkung that the o.s 55ax would be a great match for this plane.
