Default split into two pieces

so recently i bought a .46 size u can do as my third plane. i decided to get into 3d so i praticed for a long time on the sim and i was a natural at 3d. i had the plane hovering knife edging.flat spins and everything . well my girlfriend told me to take it easu becuase i was getting a little too courageous on inverted low fly by. she kepted telling that i was gonna crash. i didnt listen . i came in for a low harrier and tried to turn left with my rudder and didnt have enough speed and BAM[>:][:@] it hit the ground. i was so freaking pisssed off i coulnt even believe it. i had been flying this plane for a little less than a week and i already crashed it. i didnt have a camera at the field so i took the pictures when i got home after a trip to the LHS for some wood.it took me about an hour just to figure out how i was gonna start fixing it

She`s looking good. Don`t forget to reset the C.G. throws , ect.
It`s hard not to be THA MAN ! when the lady`s hanging out with you and your plane .
I`m smuck one more times than not, everytime my better half comes with me .

I don't think your repair will hold. You have a large number of butt joints right on top of each other. You should have staggered the joints. Do you ever see a wall made out of blocks that has a straight line of bricks in the versicle dimension? Ideally, you would cut the joints at an angle and glue them together.

If you haven't covered it yet, I suggest you pull it apart if you can. If you don't want to do that, then try and reinforce those butt joints as much as you can.

Butt joints are fine as long as there are doublers behind them. If not, it won't hold. It might hold for a while.

thanks for the replies guys. this was my first repair and i should had posted before i started to work on it. i went over all the joints again and reinforced them . i used epoxy with fumed silica to make the bond stronger and i also made plenty or reinforcement in the inside of the airframe so the top woulnt bare all the force.i havent covered the top yet so if i see that the joints dont hold up i will try something different but i checked them last night before i reinforced them and they were strong ass hell. the wood in the back of the crash would bent more easily than where i repaired it

Cool, I would like to see that in the air while pulling some G's, and CRACK right in half in mid air. Make sure you have a video camera PLEASE. That will make some nice footage.

Nice job! I've found that most naysayers dont have the b&lls to fly the piss out of their planes. Keep it up!

Good job on the repair. It is always pretty satisfying to me to fly resurrected airplanes.

i was trying out a smoke system in this plane . it still need to set the flow rate so it wasnt working that well.it was harder to hover because of the extra weight and my cg is not 100% correct with the new weight
